The Artist is a huge nerd for Art History, and hand-sculpted this vessel in celebration of the famed Venus of Willendorf carving. Her upper body is a removable lid, allowing you to secure your treasures within.
 
This Venus Vessel was formed from clay stained with iron-oxide, then painted with underglaze in more earth tones to create a natural, stippled coloration on the surface. This preserved the raw appearance of the clay, and created a satin sheen on the surface after firing. Clear overglaze was only used on the inside of the vessel to create a waterproof seal.
