The "io" or "peacock" moth is a beautiful species native to North America.
 
This Io moth sculpture is hand-built with red ceramic clay, painted with underglaze, and finished with a clear glaze. The yellow and black markings on the wings are a coat of underglaze colors, while the terra-cotta orange is the natural color of the clay body showing through.
 
It features built-in hanging hardware so that you can easily secure it to a wall.
